The Deep Woods

Short blog this week but it gets my ideas out and covers the points. In my opinion i believe i could live in solitude for a year. i used to be a boy scout and i sometimes get annoyed with all the technology that we have now days. i think that i agree with Emerson and Thoreau's words because i have similar believes i think that its important to be nonconformists. i myself lots of people will shout out oh i like ur pick shoes. yeah i have hot pink shoes. im also a gentlemen ive always been taught to respect women and not swear or fight in front of them, sometimes there are acceptions to these rules but i try not to use them unless i have to. i think i try not to conform to the norm and try to be myself. I think i could go into the woods and live with out anything for a year the only thing i would miss is my friends and family so i would like to visit them but other than that i think i could do it.

  1. I think everyone has agreed that they could live without their technology as long as they could see their loved ones. I wonder, if we actually did that, if our relationships with those people would be more meaningful? That would be a good experiment. How does a relationship change if the only form of communication used is face to face? :)

  2. I don't know how you would be able to be secluded for an entore year, but if you did I'd give you a lot of credit. I agree that being away from family and friends would be my main issue of going off and being secluded.

  3. I totally think you could do this. You seem like the type of person who would take on this nuts challenge! I also love Brookes point.. I think our relationships would get so much stronger with just face to face communication. It would give us all a whole new meaning of caring for someone and understanding them better.

  4. I absolutely agree about your nonconformists statement. My roommate is all about his "swag". He has like 6 pairs of Jordans and he literally takes them of and walks barefoot if it starts to rain. It literally gets me mad how much of a tool he is about it.
I try not to be like everyone else, but in some instances it is unavoidable. Like hockey, I have a stick that was very commonly used 2 years ago in the pros just because it is an extremely high quality stick, not because someone famous used it.
